Haven is a full-day, in-person newborn photography workshop designed to build strong, calm foundations in a thoughtfully structured small-group setting.
Throughout the day, you will work in pairs using StandInBaby® — a specially designed newborn training doll that allows you to practise positioning, wrapping, handling and camera angles without the unpredictability of working with a real baby.
There is no waiting for feeds.
No long settling periods.
No pressure.
Just focused, hands-on repetition and real skill-building.
During the workshop there will also be a short visit from a newborn and their parents, allowing you to observe a real session and see how I handle, settle and photograph a baby safely and calmly in a studio environment.
You will have access to a curated selection of wraps, blankets and beanbag covers used in my own studio, giving you the opportunity to practise with professional materials and discover what feels right for your own work before investing in your own collection.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
This is not a portfolio-building workshop.
It is a practical, immersive studio day designed to give you clarity and confidence in your newborn sessions.
Spaces are intentionally limited to ensure every attendee receives personal guidance throughout the day.
To protect the integrity of my local studio business, Haven is available to photographers based at least 30 miles from Dundee.
